Cleaning
Our studio is a shared creative space, and we all play a part in keeping it clean, safe, and inspiring.
All students are responsible for cleaning their tools, wheels, and workspace after use, including mopping the floor. Shared tools and materials should be handled with care, cleaned and returned to their designated places. We ask that everyone be mindful of noise levels.
Glazing
When glazing, all pieces must be wiped clean or waxed at least 5 mm from the bottom to prevent them from sticking during firing. To avoid cross-contamination, clean tools and designated surfaces should always be used when glazing. Glazed or waxed pieces should never be placed in clay buckets or areas meant for raw clay.
Handling Ceramics
Our kiln operates under specific guidelines, and all pieces must adhere to the studio’s size requirements for firing (to be specified). While we take great care in handling your work, pottery is inherently unpredictable, and cracks, breakage, or imperfections may occur during the drying, glazing, or firing process. By using our studio facilities, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
